Welcome to the East London Chorus website, newly revamped by our Webmaster, Richard, to whom we give our thanks.
We have had a busy year which included carols at the Ritz Hotel, sublime concert music, a change in leadership and culminated in Elgar’s “The Dream of Gerontius” - a joint effort with Harlow Chorus at Chelmsford Cathedral in early July. It was a wonderful evening; the excitement of performing with a large orchestra again, three fabulous soloists and the singers of Harlow Chorus is something that we can look back on with pleasure and pride.
Our anniversary season begins with rehearsals in September for a concert of Monteverdi, Purcell, Buxtehude and Vivaldi, to be held in St Paul’s, Covent Garden on October 15th. Since its beginnings in 1971, the North East London Polytechnic Choir and its later incarnation as East London Chorus has striven to produce professional concerts of the best choral music available. We hope this will continue for another 40 years and we look forward to your continued support either as chorus member, committee member or audience member. Thank you.
