East London Chorus raises funds for vital breast cancer research, undertaken by Cancer Research UK (charity no. 1089464). Our concerts also are in aid of this worthwhile cause.
Breast cancer is the second most common cancer in the UK with over 42,000 new cases every year. Breast cancer claims the lives of 12,400 women each year in the UK. Men can also get breast cancer but it is rare (around 300 cases are diagnosed each year). The good news is, thanks to earlier detection and improved treatment, breast cancer death rates in the UK have fallen by a fifth over the last ten years.
Enjoy our innovative concerts whilst supporting an exceptionally worthwhile cause!
In the 2007-8 season, we raised over £2000, and the cheque was presented at our December 2008 concert.
In the 2006-7 season, we raised £1000 for Cancer Research UK. Thank you to everyone who supported us and we look forward to your continued generosity in the future.
