East London Chorus Equal Opportunities Policy
East London Chorus is an amateur organisation in the British choral tradition with a repertoire drawn from Western classical music. Membership is of necessity limited in terms of musical ability, voice quality, the need to maintain a balanced chorus and to perform to a high standard.
Within these constraints, East London Chorus operates a policy of equal opportunities. We do not discriminate on grounds of race, culture, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation or disability.
We offer tickets at reduced rates for children and pensioners; and reduced membership fees for students and unwaged people.
Implementation:
- Responsibility for ensuring this policy lies with the Committee.
- Audience members who feel access to a concert may be difficult are invited to contact us.
- Potential Chorus members who feel their disability may pose difficulties should be invited to talk with a member of the Committee who will advise of constraints and assistance, in consultation with the Music Director.
- Age limit for tours: no one under 18 unless accompanied by a responsible adult.
